The Tailored Office

In the heart of New Paltz, NY, this law office renovation began with a simple intention: to create a law office that feels considered, welcoming, and reflective of its owner’s personal style. Brought in during the demolition phase, we shaped the lighting plan, color palette, reception layout, and window treatments — establishing a foundation that supports both the architecture and the client experience. The principal office is enveloped in a deep, earthy blue that settles into the existing millwork and shelves of law volumes, giving the room depth and continuity. That same hue carries onto the intricate Victorian stair, threading the spaces together. Working with many of the client’s own furnishings, we refined the palette so his pieces feel intentional and at ease within the broader vision. It’s a reminder that even in a professional setting, design can shape how people feel the moment they arrive. The office now feels evolved and personal — steady, tailored, and grounded in its surroundings.
